Okinawa accommodation rates can differ by more than double depending on the season. During peak season (July to August, Golden Week, year-end and New Year), rates for two run 22,000 to 58,000 yen per night, but drop to 7,300 to 17,500 yen during low season (December to February, June rainy season). The Obon period (mid-August) sees rates spike to 30,000 to 60,000 yen, but they fall sharply after August 25. Starting April 2026, a new accommodation tax will be imposed across all of Okinawa Prefecture. The rate is 2 percent of the accommodation fee, capped at 2,000 yen per person per night. Meal plans are divided into sudomari (room only), breakfast included (choshoku-tsuki), and half-board (ni-shoku-tsuki).
