What Is Okinawa Haari?
Haari is Okinawa's traditional dragon boat race with a history of over 600 years. Originating from Chinese dragon boat culture, it took root during the Ryukyu Kingdom era. Races are held across Okinawa around the 4th day of the 5th lunar month (May-June) to pray for bountiful catches and safe voyages.
